The Art Of Health – Do Vegans Get Sick?

There’s few things I hate more than being sick.

Not even low battery, not even bad wifi connection and not even the accusation of protein deficiency as a vegan. Being sick is awful. Health is the one commodity that you only really miss, once you lack it.

When I was eating tons of meat I got sick almost every 2 months. Headaches, fevers and nausea. Everything was on my plate. Now that I’m a vegan – this has changed.

I seldom get sick following a clean, plant-based diet, but when I do, it’s only slight colds. As a buy individual I simply cannot allow myself to get sick.

Yet I visited Russia some time ago and I caught a severe cold.
And yes I’m a vegan. But why? If veganism is such a “superior” diet, how can the people following it get sick?

I haven’t been to a place where people smoke more cigarettes, than in Russia.

Over 59% of people smoke there. Let that sink in for a while.

This is more than double the amount than in Switzerland.

The bad thing about smoking isn’t just that you kill yourself by doing it, you’re also killing those around you. Cigarette smoke contains over 70 toxins that are proven to create cancer.

These toxins create cancer by creating free radicals in your body. These free radicals keep your immune system pretty busy and may create, next to cancer in the long-term, disease in the short term.

And yes, I simply have to say it: In Soviet Russia, cigarettes smoke you.

Whenever I’m on holidays I turn into a sloth. I usually put myself through 6 workouts every week.

In this whole week I never saw a gym on the inside. This isn’t that good for your health.

Working out has been shown to increase your immune response in the long-term.

Being a sloth also created my inability to prepare food. I ate out atleast twice a day the whole week.

And here’s the thing: Eating vegan doesn’t mean eating healthy.

Fries are vegan: Healthy? I don’t think so.

Salt has been shown to increase blood pressure.

Oil has been shown to minimize one’s lifespan.

Sugar has been shown to increase one’s energy – well, at least in the short-term. I’m just kidding, eliminate sugar, oil and salt from your diet as fast as you can. Focus on whole, plant-based meals for optimum health.

Whenever you gain some muscle mass, is it the nutrition, workout or sleep that promoted it?
It’s the nutrition and the workout and the sleep. A combination of all of these factors.

The truth is, there are multiple factors that play a role in muscle growth and there are multiple factors that play a role in disease prevention.

Just because you got one factor checked, doesn’t mean you can disregard the other ones.

Eating vegan is a great step for a healthier life, as the leading cause of disability and death stems from our diet. For the best quality of life, it’s necessary to take a look at the whole package though.
