How Does Online Vegan Personal Training Work?

“This sounds like a scam.” – is what a guy told me after I’ve told him that I’m an online vegan fitness trainer.

This just showed me that a lot of people don’t know, what online training is.

See, I’m passionate about online training and what I do. I’m passionate to that extent that I quit my job (back in 2019) and declined not one but 2 well-paying job offers just to focus 100% on coaching vegans online.

QualityGains is personalized coaching service and currently we have a 20-something process to help vegans lose weight or gain muscle in a systemized way. Today, I’m gonna share our multi-step process with you guys.

Let’s dive right into it:

The way a personal training session usually works is:

  1. You take a look at the goals of a client
  2. Push them through a workout
  3. Listen to their problems and then let them go home, to their old environment
  4. It is expensive.
  5. You may not have a good personal trainer on your side.

Which means if you’re seeing a client three times a week for 1 hours you’re controlling a total of 2% of his waking hours during the week.

The client also pays, if you’re a half-way decent personal trainer, for a modest hourly rate of $150. This equals to over $1600 a month.

And this is for a few hours of training.

The on-going support, habit change and nutrition coaching is more often than not, NOT included.

Take Gunnar Peterson, he’s the celebrity trainer for Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and the Kardashians, this guy costs $15’000 dollar for a 6 week program.

And don’t get me wrong, Gunnar obviously knows what he’s doing and I heavily respect him. Personal training is probably one of the most effective way of getting you into shape. There are just two problems:

Because when it comes to personal trainer and online trainers there are the good, the bad AND the ugly.

Just weeks before I left Switzerland I’ve met this woman that suddenly felt really bad while she was training with this new personal trainer.

Also her appearance somehow got worse, she suddenly started to get massive acne on her face and back. One day she confessed to me, that she started to take massive doses of steroids, because her trainer told her that ‘it is good for weight loss with no side effects’.

She took such high doses that it could even lead to infertility issues, her doctor then told her.

I’m absolutely not a fan of 2 things: steroids and ignorance.

And this so called personal trainer is exactly what is wrong with the fitness industry. There are some personal trainers that literally make me sick and last time I checked, in certain areas more than 90% of PTs don’t know what they’re talking about.

I have a question in my questionnaire for new clients “Why have you stopped the previous coaching service?”, and more often than I’d like to admit clients write that they previous trainer have urged them to take steroids.

And this gets worse when it comes to veganism.

I mean I know a good friend that stopped being vegan because his coach suggested him to start eating meat again because veganism is unhealthy.

See, if you have a professional vegan personal trainer that absolutely mastered his craft in your geographical proximity then yes, this is probably the best solution for you.

But the problem is, this only applies to 0,001% of the people.

If you’re part of the 99,999% your next best option should be a vegan online personal trainer. So here’s how we deliver results.

Our process

The biggest disadvantage of online training is the lack of personal contact. I am aware of this problem and the 100+ changes that I’ve made in the last 30 months on our coaching service are almost all made to increase customer experience and results.

All these changes that I made over the last 30 months are not aimed to increase profit, in most cases these change actually decrease profits because they take so much of my personal time. These changes are there to improve the experience of our clients and their results.

So here’s how our process looks like after tons of experimentation in 2020.

1. Assess your Physiology

Step 1:

You’re an individual and I know that. In the first step I learn more about you. I gather data and we’re brainstorming the goals that you’re aiming to reach. We will find out exactly what is stopping you from getting there.

Part of this we figure out in our initial, free consultation.

Step 2:

Once I know where you’re heading, we will create a hypothesis of what will help you get you there in the fastest way – while using your time most efficiently. Together we will break your goals down into exact steps so you will have complete clarity and know exactly what to do to achieve that goal moving forward.

Duration: 1-2 weeks

2. Create a Clear Road Map

Step 3:

Now we’re implementing this hypothesis in your daily life. We create environmental triggers and closely monitor your body’s response. I know you’re busy, so we create a program that will fit your life and schedule perfectly.

Step 4:

Based on your body’s feedback, we further iterate and improve the hypothesis until we find a sustainable program that works perfectly for you now – and in the long-term.

Duration: 4 months + 2-3 weeks

3. Evolution

Step 5:

Triumph. You’ve achieved your goal. Awesome. Now, we optimize your program so you can maintain your dream weight and physique for life. At this point I will also explain you everything I know about health & fitness, so you will not only get a vegan fish, you will know how to vegan fish yourself.

Step 6:

Your body has adapted to a new set point. Finally, you’re living up to your high standards. You’re leading by example and you’re finally harnessing the benefits of veganism that everyone is talking about. And you’re set up to continue doing so, for life.

Duration: 1 month

_

But again, this is not all sunshine and rainbows.

Not all people have results with our service or training in the gym. And honestly, this is probably one of the biggest pain points for me.

See, I’m not in this to get your money. I’m not in this to screw people over. There are a couple more lucrative industries than coaching vegans to gain muscle or lose fat, trust me.

Before I want to explain you this point, these are the vision, mission and principles of QualityGains:

Mission, Vision And Principles

Problem: The fitness industry is full of liars, bad advice and anecdotal evidence. Living beings get exploited.

Mission: By providing the highest quality and best service, we help people improve their life while leaving a positive impact.

Vision: We make fitness results simple and predictable while advancing the transition to a sustainable & ethical food system.

Principles:

  1. Be the change that you wish to see in this world.
  2. Lead by example.
  3. For you to win others don’t have to lose.
  4. Use your strength to empower others, not to bring them down.
  5. There’s nothing impossible to him who will try.
  6. Science-based approach.
  7. Self-improvement. Display excellence.
  8. Do the work when no one is watching.
  9. Have thick skin.
  10. Health is wealth.

The reason I’m doing this post is because the last thing I want to be is a scam or working in an industry that is called a scam. And I take full responsibility for a person that has not seen results in our training.

If you pay for our service I want you to use it and get results, this is my goal. So here are three tips on how you can get results backed with the clients that we’ve trained with.

How to have results with online vegan personal training

I’ve studied the people on my coaching platform that get the best results. Trust me, it’s not the people that have the most experience or are the most disciplined. We work with beginners to very advanced vegan athletes.

There are a couple common denominators that we see around all these levels:

1. They spend more time interacting with coach/ community

I thought about that and one obvious reason that what affects your results is your environment. Your friends, your parents or your partner might not believe that you have what it takes to get results. But your new environment, meaning me as your coach or the people in the group – do.

The more you spend time with people on the same mission the better your results will be.

2. They embrace accountability

Also people see better results that actively check-in for their workouts. The clients of mine that track their progress which allows me to see what they’re sticking points are. The clients that are courageous enough to post before and after pictures are the people that see the best results.

Also small things matter: We also send out monthly feedbacks where clients can grade their coaching experience on a scale from 1-10. People that give an answer to that poll are more likely to see results.

The clients that are the most proactive see the best results.

3. They share more information with their coach

The people that see the best results are the people that take more time for their questionnaire.

The people that skip certain questions or only write 1-2 words are the people that will not see results. The more you write the better we know you as a person and can tailor our service to your exact needs.

Conclusion – How Does Online Vegan Personal Training Work?

Not all online coaching services are created equal.

The last thing I want is this industry to be known as a scam. We’re currently working to make fitness results of every single one of our clients predictable, proven and sustainable.

So if you too are a fellow vegan looking to get in the best shape of your life, we definitely need to talk. Schedule a free consultation with me here, to see, if and how I might be able to help you.
